Founded in 1853, Cornell is one of the few colleges nationally to offer a One-Course-At-A-Time calendar. Students study one course at a time, and every course is just 3 1/2 weeks long. Each term or course is followed by a four-day break. Cornell is one of only 270 colleges with an active chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most select honorary society in the US.
